Englewood, Colo. – Oct. 24, 2006–
Merlin International, one of the country’s fastest growing federal IT solutions providers, today announced it has moved its corporate headquarters to a new, expanded facility located in Englewood, Colo. from its previous location in Greenwood Village, Colo. The new facility, with four times the square footage, allows the company to continue hiring additional staff and deploy resources to meet the growth demands of its business.
“We’ve grown 1,412 percent in the past three years and it was clear we needed a larger facility to accommodate the continued growth,” said David Phelps, CEO and President of Merlin International. “In recent months we expanded our corporate vision with a stronger emphasis on delivering technology solutions and the results are adding fuel to our growth.”
Merlin has experienced a rapidly expanding customer base, a sharp increase in contract vehicles and stronger partnerships with key technology providers. Staff increase over the past year is nearly 100 percent and the company anticipates adding 40 more professional service experts by 2007.
In the past six months Merlin has been awarded several key contracts:
- Merlin partnered with GuardianEdge Technologies Inc., to assist the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in their effort to encrypt 300,000 removable storage devices and the agency’s PDAs and smartphones.
- Merlin is working with PostX to provide email encryption services to such agencies as the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense.
- Merlin was awarded a contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), to recommend, install, and maintain the agency’s network operations hardware and software.
- The Defense Information Security Agency awarded Merlin and BEA Systems a major contract to create a package of technology, implementation and maintenance services for use in production and development projects.
Merlin has also expanded its D.C. metro operations with a new Division, The Special Programs Division, in Columbia, Md. specifically designed to handle the classified technology needs of the National Security and Defense agencies. The facility holds sensitive, compartmentalized information that can be discussed by government clients and company officials in a secure environment. The new facility will include a 40 person conference room and classified Solutions Center. “For the past two weeks this new operation has started placing fully cleared personnel in various labor categories at secure locations,” said Tony Bellotte, VP of Special Programs Division. “Subcontracts have been signed with larger companies and others are in the legal process. The Special Program Division is at the point where we are heavily considering priming major classified programs with these newly engaged partners.”
The new corporate headquarters, located at Inverness Plaza Office Park in Colorado, has 27,000 sq. ft of space and will serve as the central data and communications hub for its four office locations and remote workforce. The office features the latest in enterprise network technology including fiber optics networking solutions which provide advanced mobile networking capabilities and high capacity data access to its employees from anywhere in the world.
In addition, the facility will house the company’s corporate functions including accounting, finance, legal, inside sales, project controls, quality assurance, as well as the offices of executive team.
