Program Management

In today’s global marketplace, complexity and speed are certainties. In such an environment, a good axiom for project management is, Do It, Do It Right, Do It Right Now. Creating clear direction, efficiency, a timely response, and quality outcomes requires project managers who are agile and adept at handling change.

Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities to meet the requirements of a particular project.

Project management is comprised of five process groups: Initiating Processes, Planning Processes, Executing Processes, Monitoring and Controlling Processes, and Closing Processes.

Project management also includes nine knowledge areas centered on management expertise in Project Integration Management, Project Scope Management, Project Time Management, Project Cost Management, Project Quality Management, Project Human Resources Management, Project Communications Management, Project Risk Management and Project Procurement Management.

The Project Management Institute (PMI®) is the world’s leading association for the project-management profession. It administers a globally recognized, rigorous education, and/or professional experience as well as an examination-based professional credentialing program.

PMI® professionals come from virtually every major industry including aerospace, automotive, business management, construction, engineering, financial services, health care, information technology, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications.
